This EPIM-funded project focuses on monitoring the implementation and application of provisions contained in the so-called Employers’ Sanctions Directive – 2009/52/EC providing for minimum standards on sanctions and measures against employers of illegally staying third-country nationals – in five countries of Central Europe: Poland, Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia and Hungary. The aim is to enhance the protection of undocumented migrant workers from labour exploitation and to increase the knowledge of the rights deriving from the Directive.
The participating NGOs have been conducting research on the implementation of the directive in the various countries and the compliance with EU law, the findings of which have been summarised in country-specific analyses.
HRL joined the project in autumn 2014 and provided contribution to the national country report and final comparative report. The project will end in June 2015, where several promotion activities on the issue took part in project countries.
