Training for the leaders of migrant communities in Slovakia

Human Rights League organizes half day training for the leaders of migrant communities living in Slovakia. Training called "Community organizing and financing" will take place on Saturday 10 September 2016 in Bratislava. This activity is part of the long-term activities and efforts of HRL to empower the communities of migrants to be able to defend their rights, formulate their views and opinions, and finance their own projects and activities in order to present their culture, support their individual members and develop creative and interesting ways of self-presentation.

Training is dedicated to migrants with residence permit in Slovakia, representans of refugee communities and Slovak citizens of migrant origin. Among participants there will be represented migrant communities from countries like Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, Cuba, Vietnam, Somalia, Ivory Coast and other african countries. Experts in community organisation, fundraising and crowdfunding (from Slovak Academy of Science, Pontis Foundation, Accenture Fund, Art Support Fund, Centre for Philanthropy / StartLab, and Bratislava Volunteers Centre) will lead the training.

Training is organised thanks to the financial support of Fund for Asylum, Migration and Integration, as part of the project "Legal counselling for residence and citizenship 6", and Accenture Fund via Pontis Foundation as part of the project "Couching to Employment".
